2016-04-07 11:59:57 Full end-to-end Encryption, WhatsApp is Serious About Privacy

WhatsApp has enabled full end-to-end encryption for all users of the mobile instant messenger app.

The Facebook-owned service started implementing end-to-end encryption to standard chat messages in 2014, but has now completed rollout to all forms of communication within the app, such as photos, videos and calls.

WhatsApp co-founders Jan Koum and Brian Actonofficially announced the rollout on the company's blog:

From now on when you and your contacts use the latest version of the app, every call you make, and every message, photo, video, file, and voice message you send, is end-to-end encrypted by default, including group chats.

The idea is simple: when you send a message, the only person who can read it is the person or group chat that you send that message to. No one can see inside that message. Not cybercriminals. Not hackers. Not oppressive regimes. Not even us. End-to-end encryption helps make communication via WhatsApp private — sort of like a face-to-face conversation.

If you’re interested in learning more about how end-to-end encryption works, you can read about it here ( https://www.whatsapp.com/security ). But all you need to know is that end-to-end encrypted messages can only be read by the recipients you intend. And if you’re using the latest version of WhatsApp, you don’t have to do a thing to encrypt your messages: end-to-end encryption is on by default and all the time.

2016-04-04 15:28:30 How to Apply Logo Watermark on A Photo

Sometimes for security reason, people would like to put any transparent writing or logo on private photos or the other digital creatures. Nowadays there is buy and sell activities through online everywhere without any physical building they have. One thing they can rely on is publishing the pictures of the things they sell.

Some of those who publish their photos publicly give a logo watermark to secure it. If you have no idea how to make it, follow these several steps for editing your private photos so that you can secure it from any stealing.

Open Logo File
Open the logo file you want to give watermark on Adobe Photoshop. Push ctrl+A and there will appear the dotted lines aourdn the logo page. Then push ctrl+C then close this logo file.

Open Artwork File
Open the file of the photo or Artwork you want to put watermark on and then push ctrl+V. The logo file copied will appear on the photo file. If the size is too big, click Move Tool to show the pointer up and push shift while pushing the edge part of the pointer.

Slide the pointer to the inside direction so that the size will be smaller. Do vice versa if you want to expand the logo. But you want to expand it, pay attention to the resolution. If the image has a small resolution, it’s better not. after finished, just click enter.

Position the Logo
Now position the logo to the place you want as long as the Move Tool still be active. By pushing ctrl, position the cursor in the middle of the logo image and slide it to the preferred position. Makes sure it will not cover the prime focus of the photo.

Make the Logo to be Transparent
Pay attention to the opacity on the Layer Tab on the right side. The higher the opacity, the low the transparency of the logo will be. Click on the triangle button on the left to get the transparent. Do not ever be lower than 20 %.

2016-03-30 09:21:39 Top 5 Reasons Your SMS Isn’t Being Delivered

If you’re currently running an SMS program, you’ve probably realized by now that the SMS industry has not been very transparent. Each country and carrier has their own rules about what type of traffic is allowed and it is difficult to know the intricacies. Here I’ll address some of the main problems we encounter when helping people increase their message delivery.

Using Cheap Routes: The bulks SMS industry has long been plagued by shady characters and tactics used to maximize margins. Techniques such as SIM boxes and “grey” routes are illegitimate ways for businesses to connect to the telecom network for a very low cost. With sending bulk SMS, the general rule is that you get what you pay for. SIM boxes, due to their illegality, are shut down by carriers and lead to extremely unpredictable and unreliable message delivery.

Filtered Content: If I asked you to think of a few obvious examples of countries with banned or filtered content, it would probably be easy for you to come up with a few like China or Saudi Arabia, where the government controls what information citizens are allowed to receive.

Aside from the government filtering certain types of content, there is also the issue of what the carriers will allow. In Japan, for example, if there is a URL in the body of the message then the message delivery will fail. Those messages are classified as illegal, and are either discarded completely or the part of the text that is illegal will be removed. Before starting an SMS initiative, we recommend taking a look at our Country Specific Features and Restrictions to make sure you are set up for obtaining the highest SMS delivery rate possible.

Incorrect Sender ID: The Sender ID of a message is the “from” field that is shown on the users mobile phone when they receive the message. The fragmentation and complexity of the global bulk SMS industry is also shown here due to different countries and carriers having different rules as to what can be displayed. In the US, only numerical Sender IDs are allowed and all application-to-person messages must be sent from a text short code, whereas in the UK it can be alphabetical.

Message Length: You may know that, typically, an SMS is 160 characters in length (if you were thinking 140, that’s Twitter). If you’ve read examples through three however, you’ll know that nothing is as simple as it seems. Countries like Brazil only support messages of up to 157 characters of length. If your message length is over this limit, it will be rejected if your SMS provider doesn’t automatically split it into multiple messages. One of the main things to look out for is a link being split into two, rendering it unclickable.

Encoding: Last but not least is the SMS encoding. At a basic level, encoding determines the possible combination of characters for which characters can be sent. Typically, messages are sent using either unicode, which allows for 70 characters, or using the global standard GSM 3.38 which allows 160 characters. It’s important to know that different carriers and countries require different encoding. Some carriers simply will not deliver messages that are sent in unicode while others will deliver the message incorrectly.

We recommend that when sending to a new country, always attempt to send in plain text (accents can sometimes show up incorrectly) as opposed to unicode, and always check the Country Specific Guidelines to make sure that you aren’t missing any important information.

2016-03-28 10:30:38 Upcoming Android Smartphones in The 1st Quarter of 2016

We are in the third month of 2016 and so far a number of smartphone makers have launched their mobile phones. However, there are still many Android-powered handsets that will be unveiled this year.

Here are some of the handsets that will be launched in 2016

Samsung Galaxy Note 6

Samsung has already launched its first flagships of 2016 and the company's next flagship, the Galaxy Note 6, is expected to be launched in August or September this year.

The phablet may sport a 5.8-inch slim RGB AMOLED display with a QHD resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels. Just like the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 edge, the upcoming Galaxy Note 6 may be available in two variants: one with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and the other with an Exynos 8 chipset.

While 4 GB of RAM is expected to be the norm for flagship smartphones in 2016, the Galaxy Note 6 is believed to come with 6 GB of RAM.

Samsung is said to be working on improving the camera of the Galaxy Note 6. Rumors claim that the phablet may have a 12-megapixel primary camera with Super Optical Image Stabilization System, which will allow users to take quality images in low-light conditions.

A previous report suggests that Samsung has applied for a patent for the S Pen, which can double as a stand for smartphones in the Galaxy Note series. It will be interesting to see if the Galaxy Note 6 gets the S Pen, which will also act as a stand.

Huawei P9

Huawei is scheduled to launch its next flagship, the Huawei P9, on April 6. The P9 will be the fifth smartphone in Huawei's P-series. The mobile device is speculated to come in four variants. As previously reported by Tech Times, there may be a standard 5.2-inch model, a budget- friendly variant dubbed P9 Lite, a beefed-up feature-rich version and a version with a bigger screen, which could be known as the P9 Max or P9 Plus.

If rumors are to be believed then the Huawei flagship will have a HiSilicon Kirin 950 octa-core processor for and Mali-T880 GPU. The standard version of the phone is said to have 3 GB of RAM, a display resolution of 1,080p and a 3,900 mAh battery. The premium version of the P9 may have 4 GB of RAM.

A leaked image of the Huawei P9 hints at a USB Type-C port for fast charging and data transfer. Rumors also reveal that the handset may be available in 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB internal storage options.

The smartphone is also said to boast two 12-megapixel sensors, which will bring better focus.

OnePlus 3

OnePlus is a Chinese smartphone maker founded in 2013. The company's OnePlus One, which was unveiled in April 2014, was highly popular in the market as the device included high-end features but had a competitive price tag. The company launched the successor of the OnePlus One, the OnePlus 2, in July 2015 and now the company is said to working on a flagship for 2016 dubbed OnePlus 3.

The upcoming OnePlus 3 is rumored to tout a 5.5-inch Full HD screen, Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 4 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal memory, a 16-megapixel primary and an 8-megapixel selfie camera.

The Android 6.0 Marshmallow-powered handset is expected to be launched toward the end of Q2 2016.

Moto X 2016

Lenovo completed the acquisition of Motorola Mobility in October 2014. In 2015, the company released a number of smartphones that cluttered the handset lineup and confused many customers. However, the company hasconfirmed that in 2016 it will launch only 15 phones.

The Lenovo Vibe phones will fill the entry- to mid-level market, while the Moto-branded mobile devices will only include top-end features.

Rumors on the Moto X 2016 are quite thin but speculations are rife that the device will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, a big camera sensor and a fingerprint scanner. Being a high-end phone, customers should also expect 4 GB of RAM, a higher battery capacity and Android 6.0 Marshmallow as the operating system.
