This challenge is simple in that there is only one aim:
to get into God's Word every single day This time will look different for every participant : It can be 30-minutes before the sun comes out. Or it can be 5-minutes while you're standing by the stove waiting for the oven for pre-heat for pizza. It can be a single Psalm, or a chapter of Proverbs , or an entire New Testament epistle.
The goal is to obtain exposure to the Word of God every single day because it's important. In fact , there isn't a more important spiritual discipline than taking In the Word of God.
It is absolutely impossible to have a healthy Christian life without a steady diet that includes the consumption of Scripture.
So we are linking arms this new month and committing together to consistently feast on God's Word.
Doing something every single day requires intentionality and discipline. But like other disciplines, spiritual discipline without direction can become drudgery. So what is the goal behind this discipline and challenge ? Simply , our godliness.
Together, we want to grow in godliness .
We want to challenge you with other friends and family to make #AugustScriptureChallenge a top priority .
We are going to give daily prompts that will serve to guide you in your time in the Word. We will ask you to notice something in the passage you are reading or invite you to apply what you read in some way.
