2020-10-04 01:47:17 #fineart // 'Defying Gravity' // Emperor penguins are often depicted as Antarctica's comedic, waddling denizens, so to see these 70-pound, 4-foot tall animals erupt from the water like feathered torpedoes defies expectation. I believe art should do the same. My photography is motivated by the desire to challenge our preconceptions of life in the wild. Sometimes that means recasting apex predators as nurturing parents. Other times it means unearthing a familiar emotion on an unfamiliar face.
