The Bird-dropping Spider (Cyrtarachne bufo) looks like a bird's dropping and this helps to confuse its predators! When disturbed, this spider retracts its legs under its body and plays dead, making its mimicry even more convincing. Isn’t that cool? 🕷
Did you know that the Toothache Plant(Acmella oleracea) doesn’t actually cause a toothache, but provides some relief from one? 😲
Its leaves and flower heads contain an analgesic agent that helps to reduce pain and numb toothaches and gum infections. The numbness can last from two to 20 minutes! 🦷🌼

Taking an afternoon nap! Smooth-coated Otters (Lutrogale perspicillata) are usually spotted in pairs or in small families in our mangroves, mudflats, and other coastal areas.
Cute as they may be, otters can smell quite pungent as they use spraints (otter droppings) to mark their territory. If you spot otters in our green spaces, admire them from afar! Don’t touch, chase, or corner them, as this may frighten them.
