This course covers structural design process of a RC residential building from the very basics, understanding analysis, assessing behavior and decision making, design of beam, column, slab, footing, staircase and water tank with latest IS codes and foreign code clauses. Detailing of the building with SP 34 and IS 13920, understanding the effects on structural performance with drafting using CSiDetail and AutoCAD.

Working on live project exposes learners to various practical problems, with professional and efficient use of software, decision making and issuing structural drawings.

In this course, we will be going through how a project is handled in a structural design consultancy, from the placement of columns to sequence of issuing structural drawings, we will be covering everything.

Following topics will be covered in this course:

1. Workflow in consultancy - how a project is handled, how drawings are issued, what are the checks to be performed during design, analysis and issuing drawings
2. Efficient use of software - Using ETABS efficiently, knowing all its shortcomings, interpreting analysis results and picking up design results
3. Complete design and detailing of a residential live project, including all the elements, foundation(isolated, combined and eccentric), slabs, beam, column, staircase, water tank(underground and overhead)
4. Checks during analysis, design and detailing
5. IS Codes covered - IS 456, SP 16, SP 34, IS 1893, IS 13920, IS 875 Part I, II and III, IS 3370 Part IV

Shotcrete is a method of applying concrete projected at high velocity primarily on to a vertical or overhead surface.

The shotcrete process requires less formwork and can be more economical than conventionally placed concrete. Shotcrete is applied using a wet- or dry-mix process.
