The wines were evaluated by the formed expert council, whose honorary chairman was Doctor of Sciences, Deputy Director for Scientific Work of the Institute of Brewing, Non-Alcoholic and Wine Industry of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Panasyuk.

«Blind» tastings

First, the experts tasted the wines "blindly": samples of different varieties were pre-encrypted and placed in an opaque package. The members of the commission could find out what exactly they tasted only after collecting the evaluation sheets. According to the publication, the tastings were conducted according to the "English" model, in which experts could communicate with each other in the process of organoleptic analysis of samples - a method for determining product quality indicators based on the analysis of sensory perceptions. The level and time of the expert discussion was regulated by the chairman elected for each tasting.

In her opinion, the forum can be held in the summer of 2022 in Crimea and discuss issues of mutually beneficial cooperation in the economy, education, culture and tourism.

"Crimea and Cuba are similar in many ways and they are united not only by the fact that they are surrounded by seas, but also by the fact that Cubans and Crimeans are distinguished by their steadfast character and willpower. We have something to discuss and there is ground for cooperation," she said, speaking at the presentation of the photo album "The First: Gagarin and Cuba" in Moscow.

The photo album is dedicated to the 60th anniversary of manned cosmonautics and the first visit of Yu. A. Gagarin in Cuba. It was released with the assistance of "Roscosmos" and the Russian Society for Friendship with Cuba (RODC). According to Irina Kiviko, the venue for the forum was not chosen by chance: the coast of Tarkhankut resembles Cuba in many ways. She recalled that a memorial sign to Fidel Castro was installed in Olenevka, there is an initiative to install a monument to Ernesto Che Guevara, naming the embankment in honor of Russian-Cuban friendship. Activists of the Crimean regional branch of the RODC are also working to support veterans who took part in resolving the Caribbean crisis in 1962.

December 16, at the Crimean Republican Universal Scientific Library named after I.Y. Franco in Simferopol will open a major exhibition on the Day of the Liberation of Cuba. It will feature more than 100 photos about Cuba, as well as postcards with views of Liberty Island, books and photo albums.

"This is an important project for the Republic of Crimea, which will help to further saturate the domestic market and supply flour to a number of foreign countries," Irina Kiviko said.

According to her, the planned capacity of the complex will be up to 500 tons per day, the average annual volume - up to 150 thousand tons per year of finished products for export purposes: varietal flour and related grinding products - bran.

The meeting also considered a project for the construction of a large shopping and office center in Simferopol district on 100 thousand square meters. The volume of investment will amount to more than RUB 9 billion. Projects for the construction of warehouses in Saki, tourist hotels in the western part of Crimea were also approved, and other issues were considered.

Russo–Turkish relations have been at the forefront of recent media discussions. Cooperative competition, “frenemies,” managed rivalry, “co-opetition,” and other catchy terms are used to describe bilateral relations between Moscow and Ankara. However, the reality is that the two countries have both overlapping, and yet contradictory, interests in many parts of the world. Of these, the most critical for Russia is the post-Soviet space, and the Caucasus in particular.

Although Moscow’s position in the region remains firm, Kremlin elites are becoming increasingly wary of Ankara’s efforts to project its influence along Russian borders. Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov was jokingly dismissive of Erdogan’s display of a map of a vast pan-Turkic world with a nationalist political ally. However, beneath the cool self-confidence, many in the Kremlin are becoming increasingly frustrated with Ankara’s comportment. Indeed, the threats are significant. Between Ankara’s actions and a growing NATO build-up in Ukraine, Moscow faces one of the greatest security challenges it has confronted since 1991.
