YOUR FAITH SHIELD

Above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. Ephesians 6:16

Back in Bible days, soldiers would go to war along with their shields. Those shields protected them from the attacks of the enemy. Today’s memory verse says, “…above all…” you should take with you the shield of faith.

With your shield of faith, you can protect yourself from all the attacks of the enemy, whether it’s a fever that tries to attack your body; by declaring God’s Word in faith, use your shield of faith to win!

So, take your shield of faith with you always for with it, “…you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one” (Ephesians 6:16).

GOD’S WISDOM: TRUE WISDOM

However, we speak wisdom among those who are mature, yet not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God [a]ordained before the ages for our glory, 1 Corinthians 2:6-7

Wisdom, true wisdom is only found in the Word of God. The Bible says, “…He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding” (Daniel 2:21). God’s Wisdom is greater than the wisdom of this world. It makes you say the right things and do the right things at the right time!

As God’s child, you’ve received this wisdom. You received it the moment you received Christ into your life (1 Corinthians 1:30). You’re wise with the wisdom that comes from above.

The Lord Jesus told the story of the Good Samaritan who met and helped a stranger on the road. The man had been attacked by robbers and left by the road.

Of everyone who passed through that road, and saw the man in need of help, none stopped to offer help but a Samaritan. The Samaritan on seeing the man; he pitied him and helped him out. He took him to the hospital and paid all the bills for his care and recovery.

Like the Samaritan, be concerned about others and willing to help when you can.

When others do well, you should celebrate them. It’s surprising to see people who sulk or feel bad because others are doing well and they aren’t. This isn’t a godly character.

As God’s child, you should be joyful and excited to see others succeed. When you learn to celebrate others, you’re sowing a seed, and when it’s your turn, others will celebrate you too.

SPEAK KIND AND LOVING WORDS

A scientist carried out an experiment years ago. He got some seeds and put them in the same environment with enough sun and water. He spoke kind and loving words to some, and to the others, he spoke unkind words. As they grew, he noticed the ones he spoke kind and loving words to grew up beautifully, but it wasn’t the same for the other ones. This shows how important words are.

Therefore, make it a habit to always speak kind and loving words to everyone and everything around you. As you do, the beauty of your words will show up in them.

I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live; Deuteronomy 30:19

God has given us a life of choices, and with it, He gave us His precious Word to help us make the right choices. So, you can choose to win in all you do, and all the time too.

You can choose to win in your service to God, in your studies and all you do by always putting your best in all you do. Remember, you’ve received the Spirit of excellence-the Holy Spirit, and because of His presence in you, you can win every minute of every day (Daniel 6:3).

When your teacher tells you about a math test. I’m sure you’d prepare for the test even though you haven’t been told the date of the test. You’ll want to be ready so no matter what day the test is, you won’t be caught unawares. In the same way the Lord Jesus is coming back for all His children soon, and you’ve got to be ready.

You get and stay ready by doing what He’s asked you to do. That’s winning your world for Him, doing good and living as a true example of a believer everywhere you go.

It should fill you with confidence and boldness to know that no matter what happens around the world, none of it can come near you. That’s what today’s memory verse is saying. You’re protected, and in total security. The Bible says, “As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds His people from this time forth and forever” (Psalm 125.2).

So, be full of boldness everywhere you go for the Greater One lives in you, and not only are you protected, you’re the protection of everyone around you.

ALWAYS CONSCIOUS OF HIS LOVE

Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God… 1 John 3:1

You should always be conscious and assured of God’s love for you. He loves and values you greatly. He proved that when He sent His Son Jesus to die for you (John 3:16). That shows just how precious and special you are.

So, be conscious of God’s love. Let nothing anyone does or says make you think or feel God loves you any less. Remember, His love for you is everlasting, with no beginning and no end (Jeremiah 31:3).

YOU’VE BEEN SET AMONG KINGS!

Do you see a man who excels in his work? He will stand before kings; He will not stand before unknown men. Proverbs 22:29

To be set among kings means to be in a position of importance or place of greatness.

Joseph had been sold as a slave in Egypt. But, in spite of the difficulties he faced, he remained diligent in his work. In due time, Joseph was promoted to be the Prime Minister of the same land he had been sold into as a slave (Acts 7:9-10). What a promotion!

Being diligent will always set you apart for promotion and honour. So, choose honour today by choosing to be diligent in all you do.
