Zacchaeus, a tax collector, heard the Lord Jesus was coming to town. He climbed up a tree, because he wasn’t tall, just to catch a glimpse of the Lord as He passed by. As the Lord approached the spot where the tree was, He stopped and called Zacchaeus by his name. That day, the Lord dined with Zacchaeus and his family (Luke 19:5).

The Lord Jesus loves you too no matter who you are or what you’ve done. He loves you dearly, and that’s all that matters.

When you buy a new item, that item usually would have a label with the manufacturer’s name. It’s because the manufacturer is proud of his product, he knows his product will perform excellently, and he’s happy to put his name on it.

The same way God is proud of you, because, you’re the best of all His creation, and He made you for glory and excellence. Isn’t that great?

So, chest out, chin up and say: “I am God-made; I am designed for excellence. Therefore, I’m a success in this life.” When you talk like this, nothing can stop you!

THURSDAY 15

To hold yourself in means to have self-control. This is when you’re not ruled by your emotions but by the Spirit. The ability to have control over self is a godly virtue that every Christian has. The Bible says, “Controlling your temper is better than being a hero who captures a city” (Proverbs 16:32 CEV).

So, don’t be that child who uses hurtful and careless words when upset. No! That’s not you!

Therefore, through meditation on the Word and fellowship with the Holy Spirit, you learn to hold yourself in and respond only in love.

In the world today, people may get bullied and teased for their faith in Christ. But none of that should stop you from preaching the gospel.

The Apostle Paul went through challenging times as he preached the Gospel, yet he wasn’t discouraged. He said, “…none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may…testify to the gospel of the grace of God” (Acts 20:24). He was completely sold out to Christ.

Don’t let what anyone says or does to you quench the fire in you. Stay passionate about winning your world for Jesus, for He’s coming back again.

GET RID OF WORRIES AND PRAY!

Worrying never did anyone any good. In fact, it only makes people dull and sad. God doesn’t want you worried or bothered about anything, He wants you happy, and excited every second of every day. He’s already given you all things richly (in abundance) to enjoy in Christ Jesus (1 Timothy 6:17).

Therefore, “Don't worry about anything...” rather, “…pray about everything…” (Philippians 4:6 CEV).
When you live like this every day, your days will always be full of joy and excitement.

The Holy Spirit makes the Christian life an exciting one. He brings the ‘extra’ into the ordinary! The Lord Jesus knew how important the presence of the Holy Spirit was to His disciples as they were about to start their earthly ministry, no wonder why He told them to wait until they received Him (Luke 24:49).

Every child of God needs the Holy Spirit to live the ‘extra’ ordinary life of miracles, signs and wonders. I encourage you to tell someone about Him today.

Today’s memory verse contains the words of David. He loved God so much and showed it too.

David was the king of all of Israel, and a very busy man. In spite of his busy schedule, he was very passionate for God, and loved to spend time in His house. That’s why he could boldly say, “I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go into the house of the Lord” (Psalm 122:1).

Like David, let your love for God be seen in your love, and passion for people. Always be in church, and on time too, and be actively involved through your worship, service, and giving.

Let the elders who rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in the word and doctrine. 1 Timothy 5:17

Your leaders in church are specially chosen by God (Ephesians 4:11). That means when they speak, they’re speaking as God’s prophets and priest! This is why you must honour and respect them. Don’t join those who talk carelessly about church leaders; instead correct them. If they refuse to listen to you and stop, then stay away from them.

Therefore, honour your leaders in Church; by speaking well of them wherever you may be. Remember, the anointing on their lives is for your benefit; don’t let it work against you.

When you’re faced with a situation like a fever or a difficult subject at school, what do you do? That isn’t the time to panic or be scared. No! That’s the time for you to act in faith.

The Lord Jesus and His disciples were travelling by sea when a tempest arose. His disciples quivered in fear and woke the Lord up. He simply spoke to the raging tempest and, “…there was a great calm” (Matthew 8:26). Refuse to let anything shake you; rather, like the Lord Jesus did, speak faith-filled words, and watch things change in your favour.
