2022-09-18 21:00:06 ​The Pixel 7 Pro benchmark reveals details about the Google Tensor G2.

Kuba Wojciechowski revealed some details that became known from the Geekbench test of the dogfood version of the Pixel 7 Pro.

• Tensor G2 will use the same 2xCortex-X1 + 2xCortex-A76 + 4xCortex-A55 Cores, but with little bit higher frequencies.
• The process was changed to 4LPE (4nm), which will give an increase in performance (10%), more thermal headroom and efficiency at high frequencies.
• Tensor G2 uses Mali-G710 GPU (compared to G78 in first gen). Arm promises 20% performance improvement with 20% power reduction, and a huge 35% ML speedup.
• G2 may include an improved TPU, codenamed Jaineiro.
• Device comes with S5300 modem from Samsung, which should enable NR Rel. 16 features as well as improve peak speeds and stability.

2022-09-16 14:00:10 Google may release a small Pixel?

A Digital Chat Station informant on the Weibo forum claims that Google is working on a "small-screen flagship" codenamed Neila. It's also supposed to have the same design as the latest Pixel models.

Sounds pretty interesting. The codename "Neila" hasn't surfaced anywhere before. Whether Google is really preparing a "Mini Flagship," we have yet to find out. Open / Comment

• Memories will now become more exciting with the new design, animation, and vertical navigation. (we discovered this earlier);

• Cinematic photos (Memories) will also have music, making your photos feel a little more like a movie.

• You will now be able to share entire Memories with your friends and family in just a few taps on Android (with iOS and Web coming soon).

• New feature called Styles will automatically add graphic art to your memories to make them pop. There will be several designs at launch, including limited-time styles from featured artists Shantell Martin and Lisa Congdon made just for Google Photos.

• New collage editor (that starts rolling out today on Android and iOS), with new styles from featured artists allows easily rearrange the layout with simple drag-and-drop controls and edit the photos right from the collage editor. Open / Comment

2022-09-07 14:00:16 Google has announced the fall Made by Google event, where it will present the Pixel 7, 7 Pro and Pixel Watch.

The event will take place on October 6 (Thursday) at 10 a.m. ET. It is officially confirmed that the company will show the new line of Pixel 7 flagships, its first smart watch Pixel Watch, as well as some new products from the Google Nest family. Most likely these will be the new Nest Wifi with 6E support and "Chromecast HD."

The event will be held in person in the Williamsburg neighborhood of New York, but in-person event is limited to invited members of the press. Everyone else is invited to watch the presentation via Event site or YouTube.
