Who made it?

An engineer, an architect or a
mathematician ?

Rani ki Vav (Queen's stepwell)
Its construction is attributed to Udayamati, daughter of Khengara of Saurashtra, Queen of the 11th century Chaulukya Dynasty and spouse of Bhima I. It listed in UNESCO's world heritage sites.

2021-09-25 14:27:49 Sadashiva with five heads and ten hands is standing and welcoming the guests attending the marriage of God Shiva and maa Parvathi. Above him is an extended makara torana. He is decked with jewelries and Kirita mukuta adorns his five heads. He holds various ayudhas in his 10 hands.

In Saiva-siddhanta, from the five Saktis (para, adi, icchha, jnana and kriya, corresponding with santyatita, santa, vidya, pratishtha and nivrttikalas) manifest five Sada-siva-tattvas (siva-sadakhya, amurta-sadakhya, murta-sadakhya, kartr-sadakhya, and karma-sadakhya, corresponding with Sadasiva,, Isa, Bramha, Isvara and Isana). Sadasiva is the supreme godhead but absolutely formless, all-pervading, extremely subtle and incomprehensible. As the source of the entire universe, he is both sa-kala and nishkala (aspected and unaspected), and this is known as Sadasiva-murti, as distinguished from Siva who is only nishkala and Mahesa who is only sakala.

According to Uttara-kamika (patala 43), he is to be shown as white-complexioned, five-faced, and ten-armed. Each of the five heads has a crown of matted hair, brown in colour. And the hands carry sakti, spear, khatvahga, gestures of protection and boon-bestowal (right side), noose, snake, hand-drum, blue lotus and pomegranate fruit (bijapura) (left). He sits in a bound lotus posture (baddha-padmasanam). Alternately, Sadasiva may be visualized as having a single face but with three eyes (representing the three powers: icchha, jnana and kriya), and adorned by crescent moon on the head (representing jnana). His consort in this form is Manonmani.

Sri Vishnu, 700 CE. Vietnam, Cham dynasty.

This pre-Angkor style comes from the Zhenla kingdom in the Mekong Delta of South Vietnam. It preserves the influence of Indian sculptures, particularly in the full, round forms of the face. Vishnu is seen wearing a high headdress and he holds a shankha in his raised left hand and a chakra in his right. His lowered left hand rests on the remains of a mace or gada.

Now at the Met Museum.

Gandikota Fort, popularly known as the Grand Canyon of India, got its name due to the gorge formed between the Erramala Hills (Gandikota hills) and Pennar River that flows at its foot. The fort also houses an ancient Ranganatha Swamy Temple which is also in ruins.

Madhavaraya Temple Gandikota Kadapa

Madhavaraya Temple in Gandikota is an ancient Hindu temple located at Gandikota Fort in Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh, India. This ancient temple constructed during the 15th century is currently in ruins is still a religious destination due to the magnificent Kakatiya architectural style reminiscent of the Vijayanagara period. Madhavaswamy Temple was built in the golden age of Sri Krishna Deva Raya.

Madhavaraya Temple is now a historical monument and is noted for the imposing temple tower which can be seen from any corner of the village and the interesting and intricate sculptures of architectural value. The idol of the temple and many sculptures are destroyed during invasions but the ornately decorated mandapa is still intact. The carvings of fish and tortoise seen inside the dwaram (entrance) suggests the temple was once a shrine dedicated to Mahavishnu.
