What are the pros and cons of E15 gas? Here's what you need to know about Biden's order

President Joe Biden
has announced that his administration will lift the summer ban on E15 gasoline to lower high gas prices.

Will it save drivers a significant - or even noticeable - amount of money at the gas station? Experts say it depends on a number of factors, including when your car was manufactured, how fuel-efficient it is and even your driving behavior.

But more ethanol in gasoline tanks this summer could mean more smog, which is a health hazard, especially for people with respiratory problems.

E15 is a mixture of regular gasoline and a small amount of ethanol, a plant-based fuel typically made from corn in the U.S. The "15" in the name means that it includes 15% ethanol.

Even regular gasoline usually contains up to 10% of the ethanol blend, so E15 is just more biofuel in gasoline.

How the Republican Party has learned to stop worrying and love "stolen" election statements

Speaking to Republican voters before next month's primary election in her state, Alabama Governor Kay Ivey released a new ad that briefly shows how Donald Trump's false statements about the 2020 election are being used as weapons.

"Fake news, big technology and blue state liberals have stolen the election from President Trump," Ivey says in the video titled "Stolen."

The claim that the election was stolen is unwarranted nonsense. But the specific wording of this, suggesting a conspiracy involving the machinations of these long-hated elites, rather than some cadre of as yet unidentified poll workers and intriguers, is exactly how non-Trump Republicans plan to appeal to voters who were convinced Trump was the real winner.

Biden to announce new gun regulations and name ATF candidate

Joe Biden
announced new gun regulations Monday designed to limit the use of privately manufactured guns, senior administration officials said, as he comes under pressure to take additional steps to address the nation's gun violence crisis.

The so-called "ghost guns" ordinance - unregulated, untraceable, kit-built weapons - would close a critical gap in the government's ability to trace them by requiring background checks before purchase and serial numbers on some components.

Biden has named Steve Dettelbach, a former U.S. attorney from Ohio, as his nominee to head the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. The previous presidential nominee was forced to leave because of opposition in the Senate.

House member Cheney says it is "absolutely clear that what President Trump was doing ... was illegal"

House of Representatives
member Liz Cheney said on Sunday that the House Select Committee investigating the January 6 uprising "has not made a decision" to refer criminal cases to the Justice Department, but added that it was "absolutely clear what President Trump was dealing with when some people around him did things that they knew were illegal. They were doing it anyway."

"I think what we've seen is a massive, well-organized and well-planned effort in which various tools were used to try to undo the election,"
the Wyoming Republican.

Cheney, who is on the committee, also retracted Sunday's New York Times article that said the committee was divided on whether Trump should be punished for criminal contempt, saying, "There's really no disagreement on the committee."

Japan has removed the nationalist Azov battalion from the list of terrorists

"We regret that the Azov battalion has been designated as a neo-Nazi organisation in the International Terrorism 2021 directory," the Japan Security Service (PSIA) said on its website.

The agency explained that the battalion was included in the directory based on information from Japanese and foreign media and without taking into account an independent assessment.
