It is very important to be reminded that when someone comes to | Family Bible Fellowship of Ridgeville

It is very important to be reminded that when someone comes to Christ they are a baby Christian! Sometimes they try to run before they learn to walk. Its been my experience that we show grace, we try and understand what one is thinking and what one is saying when they speak. They haven’t had the time to understand the terminologies that you know, and when they say things, we have ask questions as to what did they really mean.

Many times in that process they come to realize that the things they said werent really what they thought! What they thought wasn't really that biblical in its terms. I see my children do this all the time and unless I say, son that isn’t what that means, they wouldn’t know they are wrong. I say all that to say this, sanctification is a life long process.

Wayne Grudem, said it this way, "Sanctification is a progressive work of God and man that makes us more and more free from sin and like Christ in our actual lives." - Grudem, 746.

We are all, that are in Christ, supposed to be becoming more and more like Christ. In our thinking, in our speaking, in our actions and such, and that is a process.

Sanctification is a Moral Renovation, by which God the Holy Spirit increasingly changes your life from sinful habits to conforming us daily into Christlikeness. Sanctification is to be a progressive action in the life of a believer.

So please when someone is running when they should be walking be patience with them, trust that God is in the business of changing lives and know that we cant do that, we can encourage and share the truth of God's Word, but its the Lord that does the Work!

2 Corinthians 3:18 says,
"But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit."

Thats right, we are being.... Yes we are Positional Sanctified, like Justification, but this positional holiness is an immediate one-time act by God that disconnects us from the power of sin and sets us apart from the Kingdom of darkness and places us into the Kingdom of light!

There is along with that though Progressive Sanctification, which is that as a Christian we are to grow more and more in holiness or righteousness, just as [we] previously grew more and more in sin, so not we grow more and more in Christ like Life.
Romans 6:12, 19-22 "19 I am speaking in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented the parts of your body as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness, resulting in further lawlessness, so now present your body’s parts as slaves to righteousness, resulting in sanctification.

Pray for People, ask God to change them and teach them through His Word. The change will be a joy to see unfold.
