Isaiah 6:8-10
[8] And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am! Send me.”Isaiah [9] And he said, “Go, and say to this people: “‘Keep on hearing, but do not understand; keep on seeing, but do not perceive.’ [10] Make the heart of this people dull, and their ears heavy, and blind their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts, and turn and be healed.”

What a job! To be called to preach and proclaim the truth of God to a people who are blind and deafened by God!
Regardless of the outcome Isaiah was faithful, it was never his job to convince people or to save people, it was his job to be obedient to the call of God upon on his life!

Many years ago in my undergraduate program one of the professors challenged the students and asked a question would you be willing if God called you to go anywhere, anytime at any cost and I remember signing that, “yes send me”

The job of the preacher is not to convince, convict and or save people from eternal damnation. That is the job in the work of the Holy Spirit. Is is not about the size have a congregation or the number of followers one might think they have, it is the job of the preacher to be faithful to the word of God and not just some of it but all of it!

I know not everyone is called to be a preacher and not everyone is called to be an evangelist per se by gifting, but it is the job of a Christian to be truthful, to be unified, to be loving and to be faithful in the proclamation of the word of God!

How about you today?

Go be awkward and share Jesus with the world!
