In the charity game between Shakhtar and Lechia there was a substitution:# 21 for Shakhtar was a 12-y.o. Dima born in Khartsyzsk and first few years of his life he spent there, until 2014 when his native city got occupied by DNR. His family moved to Mariupol. Before the occupation his family were fans of Shakhtar and were part of the fan club. In Mariupol they were rooting for the local team.
When the war started his family was hiding from the bombs in the Mariupol Theater until March 16, when they managed to leave the city and evacuate to Poland.
Dima spent the entire day with his favorite team and got to get out on the field with the guys. He's still afraid of loud noises, but today he was afraid to play badly for his favorite team.
FC Shakhtar left Donetsk after the occupation of the city in 2014. Today the team is playing an active part supporting the troops in charity work. These days their shirts instead of the player's names have names of the cities that suffered the most from Russian invaders.
