Researchers exposed chicken embryos to different concentrations of nanoplastics and found that they caused a range of developmental abnormalities, including slowed growth, deformities in the heart and head, and even death in some cases.

This is particularly concerning as nanoplastics are ubiquitous in our environment and can accumulate in living organisms, potentially causing long-term harm.
