Improved Standards for New Migrant Worker (MW) Dormitories

MOM, MND and MOH have developed improved standards for new MW dormitories, which will strengthen resilience of dormitories against future pandemics and enhance liveability for MW residents

The improved standards will:
Reduce the risk of transmission of infectious diseases in dormitories
Enhance liveability for dormitory residents, with more spacious rooms and in-room Wi-Fi coverage
Complement existing safeguards such as enhanced Safe Living and Safe Working Measures at dormitories and worksites

Sharing of SHN and related Covid-19 tests costs between employers of transferred MDWs

MOM recommends for employers who are hiring transferred MDWs to share the SHN and related COVID-19 tests costs incurred when the MDW entered Singapore.

The costs can be shared if:
- The MDW is transferred within 12 months after she completes her SHN;
- The current employer does not receive more than what was paid for the costs of SHN and related COVID-19 tests; and
- Both the current and new employers sign a written agreement on the amount of costs shared
