Does your child like to read and have an active imagination of what the future holds?

Bringing together Augmented Reality and creative storytelling for the young, 'My Favourite Days' is a collaborative project by TOUCH, Meta, MeshMinds and the Smart Nation and Digital Government Office.

The story conveys a heart-warming interaction between a little girl and her grandpa through a journey of self-discovery. Young readers will get to stretch their imagination on the future career possibilities offered by technology and be inspired by a future where technology improves lives and opens up fresh opportunities in our work that we would not have imagined!

Join us live on Facebook as we launch this book on 17th December 2021, 10.30am.

Register for the event at www.tinyurl.com/ARBookLaunch! First 200 registrants (local addresses only) are eligible to receive a free copy of the book delivered to your mailbox.

It is easy to confuse between the authoritarian style and the authoritative style of parenting. There is nothing wrong about being strict; children and teenagers require healthy and age-appropriate limits to build healthy routines and habits, and consequences are required at times to help shape healthy behaviours in them.

The difference lies in the warmth of the relationship parents have with their children. Authoritarian parents leverage on the power they have as parents to enforce behaviours mainly through punishment, sometimes at the expense of the parent-child relationship. Authoritative parents leverage on the warmth of the relationship that they intentionally build with their children to encourage positive behaviours in them, using disciplinary measures when necessary.

How Marshall rescued the day in Paw Patrol, why Princess Cadance was the favorite character in My Little Pony, letting it rip in Beyblade, the creature report for the day in Octonauts, the structures built in Minecraft and with Duplo/Lego that they excitedly ask us to take a look at… all big stuff.

It is never late to listen in; even for teenagers who have kept largely to themselves, we can begin foremost by listening in to their feelings and body languages.

Wishing all a great start to a new week!!

Dear parents and caregivers, we are happy to invite you, your friends and loved ones to our final complimentary public seminar for the year happening next Saturday on 20 November 2021 over Zoom. Join us as we explore how we can:

• Utilise a process cycle that would allow us to build positive digital habits and/or manage existing screen time issues in our children systematically

• Equip ourselves with a set of strategies that have been observed to build parent-child relationship and encourage positive behaviours in children

• Apply the process cycle and experience positive change in our families with our children

This complimentary session has been made possible by the generous giving of past participants and members of public.

We look forward to engaging with you and your family once again soon!

It takes all hands on deck and all hands to clap together to create a positive culture at home, one that builds one another up. While parents can set the example in families with younger children through establishing healthy boundaries and role modelling, we can involve and encourage our teens to work together towards establishing PEACE as a culture norm within our families. It starts with us showing up, listening in, leaning in, talking with and lifting up, and inviting them to do likewise.
