2021-01-29 08:17:49 Hi Parents! You might have seen this article today.
https://mothership.sg/2021/01/singapore-full-time-gamer-arthars/

A great conversation piece that you can have with your children, who may be interested in the prospect of a career related to the gaming industry. As lucrative as it may be, you can have a discussion about the viability, possible barriers and what are the factors that will allow him/her to pursue this as a career.

Questions that you can consider:
1. How much time did he put in on a daily basis?
2. What skill sets will he need to be good or successful in this?
3. What made the person in the article do it as a career?
4. What possible factors allowed him to do it?
5. What can your child do to help you understand this possible career?

Hope that you will have interesting and fruitful conversation with your children.

2021-01-26 05:41:02 Hi Parents!

Hope you are doing well and keeping safe.

Are you wondering how much to give your children for pocket money?
Are you concerned about how they feel about money and how they can use it well?
How can I get my child to save, spend well and share?
We will like to share with you a resource developed by a group of young people, that can help you have meaningful conversation with your children about money and how they can save, spend and share.

Head on down to https://www.money-talks.sg/ to find out more, and to download the digital resource kit (it’s free!). There are limited copies of the physical kits as well so grab it while it last (its free too!)

A very good day to you! We have recently rolled out a survey to gather the preferences of parents and caregivers with children studying in schools in the Jalan Besar and Toa Payoh region as the schools' MSF-appointed Parenting Support Provider (PSP). Some of you might have received notification from your child's school to fill it in; regardless of the region where your child's school is situated, we invite you to pariticpate in this survey, especially if you are interested in attending our workshops and programmes. The survey can be accessed by scanning the QR code in the picture, or by clicking through to http://bit.ly/tppnps

To help you understand the parenting programmes better and to help debunk certain myths surrounding them (i.e. only parents with parenting issues should attend, etc.), we have created a short video introduction which we hope will be of help to you. You can refer to the video appended below, or you can access the same one on YouTube at

Dear parents and caregivers,

Through our interactions with parents over the past few years, we have come to realise that many are experiencing issues and stresses with regards to their children's digital habits. While there is no miracle solution to have our children suddenly pick up positive habits in this area out of the blue, we have endeavoured to craft out a workshop module that distils the essence of the positive parenting approach and assist parents and caregivers with a process in which they could apply to have their child(ren) move in a positive trajectory in this area.

We are happy to be conducting a complimentary run of this module this coming Saturday (28 Nov) afternoon, and we would like to invite you and your family members to consider attending it and be equipped with tools that you can apply through the school holidays with your child(ren) before the new school year begins. Please refer to the e-flyer in the earlier post for more details.

Through this webinar, we hope that participants will be able to:
1) Be acquainted with a process cycle that would allow one to build positive digital habits and/or manage existing screen time issues in the child systematically
2) Be equipped with a set of strategies that have been observed to build parent-child relationship and encourage positive behaviours in the child
3) Be encouraged to apply the process cycle and experience positive change in the family with their children

Nurturing Digital Natives the Positive Parenting Way
A Systematic & Evidence-Based Approach
(suitable for parents and caregivers of preschool to lower secondary children)
Date: 28 November 2020 (Saturday)
Time: 1:30pm – 3:30pm (Singapore Time – SGT)
Registration: http://bit.ly/ppw2020

What our past participants say:

"It dives into guiding us to become better parents in this digital age especially if you have kids who do not comprehend self control."

"It guides you to tackle the disciplinary aspects of your child’s screen time - how to kick-start, interact, acknowledge, praise and motivate them."

"Attend this because like most parents, you may be struggling with the challenges of parenting in today’s world to ensure that we raise our kids as responsible, positive and confident young adults."

We look forward to engaging with you and your family members on this. See you!
