A key element of Meta’s metaverse push is the use of digital avatars in more ways, as it looks to turn these virtual representations into more habitual interaction tools, in all aspects.And now, Meta’s taking the next steps, with some users now seeing avatar reactions as an option within Instagram Stories.

The main platform in this respect is VR, with users interacting via their cartoonish proxies within wholly immersive spaces. But Meta also wants to enable non-VR users to engage in the same way, with the characters that they choose to represent themselves becoming a more prominent extension of their personality and presence.To do that, Meta needs to make its avatars more engaging, and more customizable, which it’s already doing with the implementation of 3D avatars on Facebook, Messenger and within stickers on Instagram.

Twitter's Circle is very similar to Instagram's Close Friends in function, and allows you to create a group of up to 150 people that you can share your tweets with. Both followers and non-followers can be part of a Circle.

The easiest way to check if you are part of the test, is to start composing a tweet. If you see a new dropdown menu at the top that reads "Everyone", tap on it and you should see options on who you want to share the tweet with.When you are down composing your tweet, and want to control who gets to see it.

Twitter started testing Circle earlier this month with a limited group, and now it looks like it’s starting to roll out to more users (via Android Police). The feature works a lot like Instagram’s Close Friends, as it allows users to send out tweets to a specific group of people rather than all of Twitter.

Right now, it’s unclear how many people currently have access to Circle. It looks like more users (myself included) are finally seeing the feature pop up when they start composing a tweet, but some users still report not having access quite yet. Twitter spokesperson Joseph Nunez told The Verge it’s still in testing. “We are still currently testing Twitter Circle with a group of people across iOS, Android and Web globally,” Nunez said.

Twitter had vowed to not give personal information like phone numbers and email addresses to advertisers.Federal investigators say the social media company broke those rules.Twitter was fined £400,000 in December 2020 for breaking Europe's GDPR data privacy rules.The FTC is an independent agency of the US government whose mission is the enforcement of anti-trust law and the promotion of consumer protection.It accuses Twitter of breaching a 2011 FTC order that explicitly prohibited the company from misrepresenting its privacy and security practices.

Jack Dorsey, former CEO of Twitter Inc, did not stand for re-election to the board in a meeting on May 25, Bloomberg reported, formally ending his connection to the micro-blogging site he co-founded in 2006.The move comes as no surprise as he had hinted at this while handing CEO reins on November 2021 to Parag Aggarwal.

Besides his stint as CEO from 2015 to 2021, Dorsey has also been a company director since 2007.Notably, this is the first time since foundation that none of Twitter’s co-founders are working with the company or are on its board, Bloomberg added.During the annual meeting, investors voted against re-electing private equity (PE) firm Silver Lake’s Egon Durban to the board, Reuters reported on May 26. Durban is a known Musk ally.

Several users are facing trouble logging in to the Meta-owned social media platform Instagram as #instagramdown trends on Twitter. The outage seems to have begun this morning at 09:30 AM IST and affects users worldwide. As seen in multiple tweets, Instagram users are facing an error message that reads “Please wait a few minutes before you try again.”

According to digital services’ outage tracker Down Detector, the outage began around 09:30 AM IST earlier this morning. In less than an hour, Down Detector received about 1,500 reports from users while at 11:50 AM IST, the platform received over 2,500 reports from users in India. Out of these, about 45% of users are facing issues with the application, 37% are facing issues with the server connection and 18% are troubled with the website.

But recently, in some Instagram elements, you may have noticed a slight change to its presentation.Whether you recognize such or not, this is part of a broader brand refresh at IG, which includes updates to a range of elements, including its default font, layout and other design aspects.

Elon Musk has admitted to having a secret Instagram account. The billionaire entrepreneur, who made a big show of deleting the Facebook pages of his companies SpaceX and Tesla back in 2018, has now admitted that he has an account on Facebook-owned photo-sharing platform Instagram.

Elon Musk has only one social media profile open to the public - his Twitter handle, which is followed by a staggering 94.6 million people. But in a tweet sent out earlier today, Musk admitted that he also uses a “cheesy secret Instagram account” to check out links sent to him by his friends.Musk was responding to a tweet from Pune-based IT professional Pranay Pathole, with whom he regularly engages on the microblogging platform. The Twitter account of graphic artist Mike Winkelmann, also known as BEEPLE, was hacked today to promote a crypto scam. His account was hacked to share a fake link ostensibly to a website of a collaboration with fashion designer Louis Vuitton.

BEEPLE's account was hacked to share a fake link to an "Official raffle entry," and Twitter users were warning others not to click on it as some said their wallets had been drained of ETH. As The Block previously reported, Louis Vuitton commissioned BEEPLE for non-fungible token art as rewards for a raffle and game called Louis: The Game.
