We ended off last weekend's session on parent self-care with this quote from American psychiatrist and author Frank Pittman which we believe doesn’t apply just for fathers but for parents in general.

We would have had grand hopes and dreams for our children the day they were born, on how well we would raise them and how we would give them our best.

Then things happen. Life happens – work... relationships… things not working out.

Some say parenting brings out the worst in us but putting it in another way, it gives us the opportunity to unearth what can to be worked on in ourselves, presents us with the choice to grow in our shortfalls and rewards us with the growth as we follow through... ...

Dear parents and caregivers,

We are happy to have engaged with 460 parents and caregivers last weekend in a time of exploring how we could better care for our children by caring for ourselves. Appended herein are some meaningful stats and feedback from participants for perusal; we hope that the evaluation provided would encourage you to consider attending future runs of this module if you haven't.

To participants of this session: our hearts are full reading of what you thought of the session, what you’ve gleaned from it and most importantly, what you would do with the learning and reminders thereafter. We hope that the session has helped to motivate you to plan ahead, so that you would find yourself in a better place in tackling the various parenting situations that you may face.

Celebrating the milestone of a 1,000 likes on our Facebook page with a note to thank all who have journeyed along with us! As a young team (in its formation, not in experience! ) formed towards the end of 2019, we are thankful for the opportunities to walk alongside parents and caregivers in working through parenting related challenges over the past two and a half years. If you’ve benefitted from our services, do help channel your friends and loved ones to like our FB page (https://fb.me/TOUCHParenting) or follow this Telegram Channel (https://t.me/TCSPSP) to keep in touch with our latest offerings.

To all who have attended this morning’s session on parent self-care, we hope that you have gone away with good takeaways. Wishing all a restful weekend!

Hi Parents and Caregivers! We have provided some important points to take note of regarding our upcoming complimentary public online seminar session this Saturday (16 Apr 2022):
https://www.facebook.com/TOUCHParenting/posts/160263473039817

We have to date 786 registrants; as such, we would bump up our Zoom meeting capacity to 1,000 for this session. We have space for about 200 more – come join us!

We look forward to engaging with you in exploring together how we can better take care of our children as we take care of ourselves as their parents.

In conjunction with the complimentary run of our parent self-care module this coming Saturday morning, we are opening an anonymous survey to help us better understand the common behaviours in children that could possibly set their parents off. We seek a few minutes of your time to help answer the question; we would collate your response with the rest into a summarised sharing during the session which we believe would be helpful to those in attendance.

The quick survey can be accessed at https://forms.office.com/r/dHdX4jTf6A

More information on this Saturday’s session can be found at https://fb.me/e/1AzTDhhwP - we look forward to engaging with you if you have registered; if you have not, we hope that you would consider joining us.

Triggers can be seen as present experiences we have that activate feelings from the past, resulting in us acting in ways that are not keeping with the present. A tantrum that sets us screaming our heads off. An act of disobedience that causes us to bulldoze our way and destroy what's precious to the child. Tardiness displayed that leads us to tearing up pieces of to-be-completed assignment.

Knowing the possible trigger points in our journey with our children can be a good start in healing and in crafting a different ending to the scenarios.

We will be discussing some of these in our upcoming complimentary webinar on parent self-care on 16 April 2022 (Saturday) from 9:30am to 11am. Information on the session can be found at our event page at https://bit.ly/tp22416fb

Join us as we explore how we can better take care of our children as we take care of ourselves as their parents.

Instead of staying calm ourselves, we sometimes allow our children’s chaos to become ours. There can be many reasons for that – different stress points adding up, unexplained triggers, and the way we interpret their difficult behaviours, that they are being rude, unreasonable, uncontrollable and giving us a hard time when they are the ones having a hard time and perhaps not having the resources to be able to manage.

We will be discussing some of the above in our upcoming complimentary webinar on parent self-care on 16 April 2022 (Saturday) from 9:30am to 11am. Information on the session can be found at our event page at https://bit.ly/tp22416fb

Dear parents and caregivers, while there are many evidence-based approaches and strategies out there proven to be able to help us in nurturing our children, we may not be able to apply them effectively if we do not possess the mental and emotional capacities to do so especially through our children’s difficult behaviours.

We will be conducting another complimentary run of our seminar on parent self-care over Zoom on 16 April 2022 (Saturday, 9:30am to 11am).

We hope that you will join us as we explore how we can better take care of our children as we take care of ourselves as their parents.

Registration is currently open; details are in the FB event page. We look forward to engaging with you, your spouse and friends who are fellow parents.

If you find this relevant, please help us spread the word so that more parents and caregivers can be reached out to. Thanks!
