Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Maria Zakharova commented on the report on preventing Russian peacekeepers the entry of Armenian deputies to Artsakh:
"The Russian peacekeeping contingent operates in strict accordance with the provisions of the Statement of the Leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia of November 9, 2020. This visit was not previously agreed with the RPC command.
We believe that the statements about the actions of Russian peacekeepers allegedly contrary to the provisions of the Statement of November 9, 2020 are not true.
We expect that taking into account the incidents that have occurred both in the area of responsibility of the RPC and on certain sections of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, both sides will refrain from steps that could further aggravate the situation in the region.
