The Armenian Ombudsman called it inappropriate to discuss the death penalty for treason
Human Rights Defender Christine Grigoryan said that she, as a member of the Constitutional Amendment Council, does not even consider it appropriate to discuss the initiative on execution for treason made by the Prosecutor General's Office. Such a measure, in her opinion, casts a shadow on constitutional and democratic values in protecting the right to life and human rights in general.
