In the 1980s, Russia invented the idea of using microwave emissions to bombard the US Embassy in Moscow. Everyone got sick and could only work there for a few months at a time. When the US discovered the high levels of EMF, the Russians just laughed and said that it was at the allowable level according to US law, which was set absurdly high and still is.
Now, the Australian government appears to be using focused EMF weapons to disable protesters and make them ill.
