X: Greeted them.

M1: Hope you and your family are doing good. Hope you all are safe. Are you in Kolkata? Where are you joining from?
X: No, from diff city. 12 hours journey on train from Kolkata. My family is doing good. But my father is a frontline worker. So I am a little bit worried.

M1: Your father is doing great job. You should be proud of that.
X: Yes sir. I am.

M1: What other calls you have?
X: IIM L, I, S, CAP

M1: You have good calls. Why you applied for IIM k LSM?
X: Told about my interests in social work. I am working with two NGOs. In the last term of LSM there is a optional subject in social work. So it aligns with my interest.

M1: Still I am sure if you get Lucknow you'll go there any day.
X: Sir Lucknow PGP is general MBA. Here I will get to learn different aspects of management. Where LSM is a niche course. Both has their own benefits.
To be frank, I will choose IIM L over IIM K LSM.

M1: It's okay. Totally upon you. You have good thoughts. So decide accordingly.

M1: What do you think who will win this election in Bengal?
X: Explained its a tough fight but according to exit polls TMC might win by a small margin.

M1: Why not BJP?
X: Told.

M1: How BJP came to West Bengal? Why there is so much polarization?
And how this transition happened? When I was your age I remember CPIM was there. Then TMC came. And now BJP. Please tell me what happened.
X: Explained the transition. What people might thought at that time. (It was a pretty long answers so not mentioning here).

M1: Okay, you look very much interested in politics. Let M2 ask you few questions.

M2: So you are from St. Xavier's Kolkata, it's a good college. You must be a good student.
X: I hope I am.

M2: But your graduation score doesn't say so.
X: I smiled and gave a prepared answer.

M2: Tell me what is your favourite subjects?
X: Probability, inference.

M2: Difference between Normal and Poisson distribution.
X: Gave three points.

M2: Good. I am done.

M1: Do you have any question for us?
X: Sir, with social work I have interest in marketing. So I had a question in mind about this course. In an article I read recently Dr. Debashish Chaterjee said that LSM has marketing and HR courses but people will learn differently. What is that difference?

M1: I am a strategy faculty so I think prof M2 will be able to answer it in a better way.

M2: Told about the course structure and it's alignment towards arts, not technical, but we will learn ethical, physiological ways of doing marketing. To be honest most of the things you will learn outside the campus if you want to pursue marketing. You have to participate in a lot of case competitions, market research, live projects etc. And you'll love it.
X: Yes sir. That's why LSM have also introduced rural immersion program and student exchange program mandatory, so that students can have different perspectives about different culture of the society.

P2: Exactly.
