There's a lot of FEAR PORN circulating about your bank card being used to check your QR status and send your details to SPER (QLD).
Please DO NOT buy into this and freak out. I have talked about the CDR (Consumer Data Right) accessing this information for your Digital Identity in future, but at this stage it is still in Opt-in status.
Please go into internet banking/ branch and remove all third party consents and data sharing.
One day they will email/IB Inbox you to say 'unless you reply to this and opt out, the CDR will access your details' so please ensure you read your bank correspondence. It will be similar to what they did with My Health Record.
They aren't ahead of the game enough to connect it with SPER...
I have had an email from my rental agency saying they are moving to Open Banking, where the Direct Deposit agency will 'check' your bank account for funds before sweeping rent, to ensure overdraft charges aren't incurred.
Don't opt in for Open Banking.
