— "Wildlife authorities in Maine said six wild ducks found dead in a stream in Winthrop have tested positive for bird flu.

The hooded mergansers were found dead in Mill Stream and tested positive for a highly pathogenic avian influenza, the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife said Friday.

The wildlife department said the National Veterinary Services Laboratories in Iowa confirmed the strain to be the kind circulating in Maine. The department said the strain is highly contagious and can spread and mutate between wild and domestic flocks of birds."

I see a lot of people claiming to be opposed to the MSM... commenting on latest Current Thing.

I saw a lot of people opposed to vaccine passports... using fake ones.

I see a lot of people opposed to Big Tech... clamouring to return to Twitter and YouTube the moment they're unbanned.

Those people are wedded to the System's narrative, when actually we need a new one. There's always some justification: "I'm using their tools against them... I'm fighting the culture war... It makes my life easier... I'm doing it ironically bro, for a laugh."

None of that changes the fact that you are nevertheless using your enemy's infrastructure, and particularly where technology is concerned, it grows by usage. If you're opposed to, e.g. machine learning tools, it doesn't matter how you use them; only that you do use them. This is why The Atlantic and VICE News articles thrive on both the love and hatred they receive.

Optional technologies become essential technologies through unanimity. I found this recently with the need for a smartphone in opening a new bank account. Open / Comment
