Dialog A2 With vacation season approaching, we bring you a dialogue on the topic “Holidays in the mountains.” Read the dialogue and listen to its pronunciation in the audio below the post.
— Hi Maria! How was your holiday in the mountains?
— Wirklich toll!
— Really great! The weather was perfect. We had lots of sunshine and it didn’t rain even once. Every evening, we could see the stars. And when we woke up, the sun was shining on the mountains. The nature there is beautiful.
— Oh, that sounds fantastic! The weather here in the city was awful. There were dark clouds in the sky and it rained for three days straight. Anyway, I’m glad you had a great time. I prefer vacations by the sea, but I know you love going to the mountains.
— Yes, that’s really true. The mountains are the perfect vacation spot for me. But I can understand why you prefer going to the sea.
— Ich liebe das Meer und die Wellen. Die sind so beruhigend.
— I love the sea and the waves. They’re so calming.
— That’s true. But there are lakes in the mountains, too. You can relax wonderfully there. There aren’t many tourists, so you’re often alone with nature. It feels great.
— Bist du denn auch mal schwimmen gegangen?
— Did you ever go swimming?
— Ja, aber nur ganz kurz. Das Wasser war viel zu kalt.
— Yes, but only very briefly. The water was too cold.
— Verstehe.
— I understand. Next time, I’ll definitely go back to Italy to the sea. It’s always nice and warm there.
