2021-12-17 14:17:41 “You are the light of the world!” (Matthew 5:14)

We often fail to appreciate how significant this statement is. Jesus calls His followers “the Light of the world.”

What chance does the world have to come out of darkness and into light without the Church? None.

Or as Paul questioned:
“How will they hear without a preacher?”
Answer: They won’t.

If the Church isn’t in revival, the world is descending into hell.

What a good day it is to be filled with the Holy Spirt! Our sanctification is the world’s salvation.

Lord, renew in us today, a steadfast and willing Spirit. By Your power, let us fulfill our calling to be the light of the world today. In Jesus’ name. Open / Comment

2021-12-16 22:19:19 “A Cradle in Bethlehem”

A grew up with this beautiful melody sung this time of year by Nat King Cole. But I never felt like the song had much depth to it. A few years back, I wrote a second verse and I have rarely been as pleased with the lyrical content. My favorite line is the very last one:

“A baby tonight is rocking the foundations of earth and men.”

That line is a beautiful fusion of Psalm 2 and the Christmas story Open / Comment

2021-12-16 15:26:28 You Give Them Something to Eat

None of us feel equipped or “good enough” to initiate ministry for the Kingdom of God.

We don’t feel smart enough, talented enough, wealthy enough, etc. We often imagine that the people we admire have something we don’t that enables them to do great things for the Kingdom of God. That may be so, but the “thing” they have that we might not have is something that we can acquire immediately. As soon as we acquire it, we will also be activated. The key is humility.

Often times, we neglect stepping out in faith and leadership because we are afraid of failure. It’s pride that is afraid of failure. Humility knows that failure is inevitable but the effort is still worthwhile because we are promised that in our weakness He will be strong.

Finally, Wisdom says that we will all fail, but the ones who try will sometimes succeed. Not trying is guaranteed failure.

Jesus told His disciples to feed the crowds. The disciples replied that they didn’t have enough resources. Jesus still insisted: “You give them something to eat.” (Mark 6:37) They obeyed and they succeeded by His power in them. Open / Comment

"And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony;" Revelation 12:11

More people come to Christ when we share our testimony, or our "witness" to the resurrection of Christ. My podcast features many testimonies and it has been amazing to see how one person's story can bring freedom and healing to another.

As we travel on our ministry tour, we will also be recording testimonies of believers young and old, new and mature. They will eventually be released on the podcast. Would you be willing to share your story? Again, let me see that hand! Open / Comment
