You Give Them Something to Eat
None of us feel equipped or “good enough” to initiate ministry for the Kingdom of God.
We don’t feel smart enough, talented enough, wealthy enough, etc. We often imagine that the people we admire have something we don’t that enables them to do great things for the Kingdom of God. That may be so, but the “thing” they have that we might not have is something that we can acquire immediately. As soon as we acquire it, we will also be activated. The key is humility.
Often times, we neglect stepping out in faith and leadership because we are afraid of failure. It’s pride that is afraid of failure. Humility knows that failure is inevitable but the effort is still worthwhile because we are promised that in our weakness He will be strong.
Finally, Wisdom says that we will all fail, but the ones who try will sometimes succeed. Not trying is guaranteed failure.
Jesus told His disciples to feed the crowds. The disciples replied that they didn’t have enough resources. Jesus still insisted: “You give them something to eat.” (Mark 6:37) They obeyed and they succeeded by His power in them.
