Prominent Al-Jazeera journalist shot dead in Jenin, Israeli and Palestinian authorities play the blame game. Veteran Al-Jazeera journalist Shireen Abu Aqleh, 51, a Palestinian-American who was among the network's most prominent figures in the area was shot dead on Wednesday while covering an IDF raid in the occupied West Bank.
As per the IDF, the prime minister's office and the media division, the journo had been shot dead by Palestinian militants based on a video allegedly claimed, the head of the IDF said that it was impossible to say exactly which group killed the reporter but it was 'likely' Palestinian gunfire.
