Postdoctoral Research Associate in Experimental High Energy Physics with ATLAS
The Institute for Fundamental Science at the University of Oregon invites applications for a postdoctoral research associate position in experimental high energy physics with the ATLAS experiment. Candidates should have Ph.D. in physics or a closely related field by the date of appointment and a demonstrated ability to perform high caliber, independent particle physics research as well as the capability to mentor students. The Oregon high energy physics group has a strong and exciting research program with major commitments to ATLAS and FASER at the LHC, the LlGO gravitational wave observatory, and detector development for a next-generation of e+e- collider experiments such as the ILC. The successful candidate will support the Oregon group's work on the ATLAS trigger system, including upgrades for the High-Luminosity LHC, and play a leading role in ATLAS data analysis in searches for physics beyond the standard model during Run 3 of the LHC. Residence at CERN is preferred, especially during the Run 3 commissioning in 2021.
