Here goes my report...

The bar chart illustrates the number of houses which were either rented or owned in England and Wales. The data are given in percentages and stretch between the years 1918 and 2011.

In general, the popularity of renting an accommodation had decreased whereas owning the house had taken the lead. Interestingly, in 1971, both rental and purchasing the house were equally popular within the population.

Initially, families in England and Wales were more prone to rent houses with the shares reaching almost 80. However, in 2011, more than a third of the people preferred rental to owning. As regards owning, the share of homeowners had risen almost 3 times as much as they were initially, with the figures reaching around 65. Nonetheless, the information was nowhere near that of a renting one, with ownings reaching the peak of only slightly under 70. It is noteworthy that exactly 50 percent of the population were prone to rent an accommodation in 1971.
