Russian space nuclear weapons could render low-Earth orbit unusable for a year.
John Plumb, head of Pentagon space policy, said this at a hearing in the House of Representatives, Defense One reports.
“Some analysts do believe that an explosion in space of the right magnitude in the right location could render, for example, low-Earth orbit unusable for some period of time,” Plumb said.
Previously, the United States stated that the Russian Federation wants to place nuclear weapons in space. Putin denied this.
