※ Scholars whose Korean language program is delayed (e.g., return after a leave of absence) must check if their degree program is only available to start at a certain period of time. For example, if a program starts in September only, scholars cannot resume their degree program in March.

The new program, called GKS-UIC(University Industry Cooperation), invites 100 talented international students who wish to pursue undergraduate degrees in Korean universities.

Please contact the first ground of selection organization(university) to get detailed information regarding the application submission such as application deadline, required documents, interview and etc. Application submission deadline may differ by each university that conducts the first round of selection.

In 2022, Korean Government’s Global Korea Scholarship program aims to invite international students who wish to purse a graduate level degree or research in Korea.

- General: 603 scholars - Overseas Korean: 20 scholars

- Korean Language Teaching Professionals: 15 scholars

- Research Program: 10 scholars

To be selected as a GKS grantee, any applicant should successfully pass through the 1st selection process set by the Korean Embassy of his or her country of origin.

The KF Fellowship for Postdoctoral Research is designed to support the full-time research of rising scholars who have recently earned a PhD of a Korea-related topic at a university or research organization located in North America.

Eligible Applicants: Rising scholars with a recent PhD in the humanities, social sciences, arts or cultural studies on a Korea-related topic must fulfill each of the following criteria:
Have citizenship or permanent residency status in a country outside Korea (Applicants must already have obtained permanent residency status as of January 2022.)
Have not been awarded a position at a university equivalent or exceeding that of a full-time lecturer or be designated as a senior researcher of a research institution
Have obtained a PhD degree within the past five years

Grant Period:1 year (Sep.1, 2022 to Aug.2023)

Dear Prospective Applicants of the 2022 GKS Graduate Program,

Starting from 2022 GKS-G program, NIIED will only accept apostilled or consular confirmed documents for part of the application documents. Please refer to the attached file for further information.

This notice is to provide prospective applicants with appropriate time to prepare the required documents since we are aware that certain documents require lead time to be authenticated in some countries.

The full set of application guidelines for 2022 GKS Graduate degree program will be released in February 2022. For now, please refer to 2021 application details for the time being.

The application procedures are similar every year, but there may be slight changes in the country quota, application forms, eligibility, etc., so please read the updated 2022 application guidelines very thoroughly before you apply for the program.
