Shipyards must make and sell ships; car plants must make and sell cars. A period of industrial success, when everything goes well, is called a boom. On the other hand a period when there is not much industrial activity is called a slump. To maintain a high level of production is not simple. For example Japan, a very successful industrialised country, has very few natural resources such as oil or coal, and has to import them from other countries in order to keep its industries going, and thus to supply needs at home and also to export its goods to its overseas market.

If you want a tin of sardines, a tube of toothpaste, a box of chocolates, you can look for it at the supermarket. They sell everything. If you want a lot of things, you can use a trolley and push it in front of you. If you don't want much, you can use a small basket. Then buy the things you want. If you can't find them on the shelves, ask an assistant for help. When you see what you want, you just take it from the shelves and put it in the trolley. When you have everything, you must stand in the queue at the check-out to pay. If there is anything wrong, if the service isn't good, customers can complain to the manager. Our supermarket is super.

2022-05-26 08:30:42 I love football. I don't just like to watch it. I like to play , too. I belong to a team. Of course it’s not my job. We're just amateurs, not professionals. Not many people come to watch, We just have a small crowd. In fact, there are sometimes more players than spectators! We have a game every Saturday, but we train together every Tuesday and Thursday evening to prepare and keep fit. We're quite a good team. We win most matches, We only lose a few, and sometimes we draw (for example, last Saturday the score was 2:2). Next Saturday our match is against a very good team, but I think we'll beat them, and if I’m lucky I'll score a goal or two.

2022-05-25 08:30:30 Most people like to think they are individualists and simply wear whatever they like. Few people will admit to being slaves to fashion. However we are not just talking of the expensive haute couture of the Paris and Milan fashion houses which not many people can afford anyway. We are talking of fashions and trends in everyday clothes. We say that we wear jeans and sweaters because they are cheap and practical, but isn’t it true that our jeans and sweaters tend to be the same as everyone else wears? Doesn't that mean that we like to be trendy?
