This is interesting. Apparently at Download Festival they're giving discounts for paying on card (via corporate sponsorship of Barclaycard).
Now imagine this expanded to all national banks (and eventually international), then it becomes normalised in general. At this point the incentive is no longer just the convenience, but also because using card and mobile phone apps offer cheaper prices. Eventually cash will be phased out entirely and it will be justified by the fact that people no longer use cash, the reason for this will be that they cannot afford the price difference.
At a rock/metal festival too. How rebellious.
