[Ministerial Statement – July 2021]

Finance Minister Lawrence Wong delivered his Ministerial Statement in Parliament today.

He has recapped the support measures that the Government has introduced during Phases 2 and 3 (Heightened Alert), which included:

Jobs Support Scheme to help enterprises retain local workers
Rental relief for SMEs and eligible non-profit organisations in commercial buildings
Additional rental waiver for hawkers in Government-owned premises
Targeted support for affected groups and individuals, through COVID-19 Driver Relief Fund, COVID-19 Recovery Grant (Temporary), and more.

Minister Wong also announced enhanced access to credit for SMEs to allow them to better build new capabilities and future-proof their businesses. The Temporary Bridging Loan Programme and the enhanced Enterprise Financing Scheme – Trade Loan will be extended by 6 months from 1 Oct 2021 to 31 Mar 2022.
