WNBA Star Griner's Moscow Detention Extended To July

Investigators have successfully requested an extension to the detention of US women's basketball superstar Brittney Griner until July 2.

Representatives from the Khimki Court had previously extended her spell in custody until 19 May and then again until mid-June after her arrest in February when cannabis oil was allegedly found in her possession, for which there is a maximum punishment of 10 years in prison.

The US State Dept declared Ms Griner "wrongfully detained" last month, while spox Ned Price demanded Tuesday she "not be detained for a single day longer".
