EU Signs Gas MoU With Israel & Egypt

Israel's energy ministry claims "significant" gas exports to the EU can now take place under the memorandum of understanding signed Wednesday in Cairo with the Egypt and the bloc.

The EU will reportedly encourage companies to look at exploration tenders in Israel and Egypt as part of the agreement, before weaning itself off gas imports by 2030 to stick to its carbon neutral goal.

LNG exports from Egypt may take a couple of years to see major increases though as domestic demand remains high.
