Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan

The leaders had a substantive exchange of opinions on the issues of bilateral cooperation, primarily in trade and the economy. They noted significant growth in trade and also discussed the outcome of the recent visit to Turkey by the Russian delegation headed by the co-chair of the Russian-Turkish Intergovernmental Commission, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak. The leaders agreed to other meetings to further strengthen mutually beneficial ties including in energy, transport and tourism.

While discussing the situation in Ukraine, the presidents underscored the issues of ensuring safe navigation in the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov and eliminating the mine threat in their waters. Vladimir Putin said the Russian side is ready to contribute to unhindered sea transit of cargo in coordination with its Turkish partners. This includes the import of grain from Ukrainian ports.

In light of global food market problems, which have emerged due to the short-sighted financial and economic policy of the Western countries, the leaders reaffirmed that Russia can export significant amounts of fertilizer and agricultural products if the related anti-Russia sanction restrictions are lifted.
