The Palaszczuk Government has called for submissions on its draft "Queensland AgTech Roadmap 2023-2028", aimed at "accelerating the digital and technological transformation of Queensland agriculture".
The Roadmap should be viewed within the context of global trends in agriculture and the new digital technologies that are seeking to integrate and control the entire food chain - from seed to table.
It is all 'part and parcel' of an aggressive global push for farming managed by Al and predictive algorithms, precision farming, fake foods - lab-grown meat, synthetically produced oils and breastmilk - robot pollinators, biofortification, gene drives for more advanced forms of GMOs and digital sequencing of genetic information.
