This morning in the Word, I was reminded that God desires for | Family Bible Fellowship of Ridgeville

This morning in the Word, I was reminded that God desires for us to keep others a priority. It was Solomon when he was asked by God, "What shall I give you?" Solomon responded by being very thankful for where the Lord had him in life but also very aware of his limitations. Solomon said Lord, I need wisdom! Solomon knew and understood that in the face of looking over so many people, He needed a special blessing from God to have the strength and ability to govern the people who were so great in number. He didn't seek after that which was for his own glory; he sought after that which was needed for others, and God blessed him with that and much more. God had a direct view into the very heart of Solomon, and it was a heart of good motives. God sees the heart, wickedness and pure hearts. Sometimes when we put others first, God blesses us with much more than we could ever imagine. Solomon got that which he wasn't seeking because God decided He wanted it for Him. I pray that we will seek how and what we might do for others today. Jesus came to serve and not to be served. If our lives are filled with only being served and never helping others, that isn't honoring to the Lord. Today that can change if we will come to Him in repentance. Seek those things that honor the Lord and seek to be a blessing to others; in the end, you will be blessed. Maybe you will not be bless with riches on earth, but more significant than that you will be blessed with riches in heaven.

Be Awkward today, serve someone, and share the Gospel with them.

2 Chronicles 1:11-12
11 "Because you had this in your heart, and did not ask for riches, wealth, or glory, or the life of those who hate you, nor have you even asked for long life, but you have asked for yourself wisdom and knowledge that you may do justice for My people over whom I have made you king,12 wisdom and knowledge have been given to you. And I will give you riches and wealth and glory, such as none of the kings who were before you had nor those who will come after you."
