A new report has told the Scottish Government that they have to set up a new museum dedicated to Scotland's supposed role in the slave trade and colonialism.
At a time when national and local government budgets are shrinking, the NHS and education are a shambles, and the Scottish arts sector is heavily underfunded, spending millions to open a new museum to concentrate on a tiny part of Scotland's history to appease a tiny section of society is wrong.
The obsession with colonialism and slavery can do nothing to help build a modern Scotland, but it will encourage grievances and resentment within society. While at the same time giving a view of our history that will be manipulated to suit the agenda of a small group of people
