A summit is to be held in Scotland by pro-abortion groups chaired by Sturgeon to look into banning vigils by anti-abortion groups near hospitals or clinics carrying out abortions.
Green MSP Gillian Mackay is pushing for the holding of a vigil or protest to be made into a criminal offence punishable by jail.
Leaving aside the right and wrongs of abortion, this is a worrying move by the illiberal so-called liberals in Scotland. If we allow this ban to come in force, backed up by a criminal penalty, we are severely restricting free speech and the right to hold peaceful demonstrations in Scotland.
This time it may be for anti-abortion groups, but who knows what and whom the intolerant left will target next in their quest to take away people's right to free assembly and expression?
