Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick gives remarks after the acquittal of General Ken Paxton.
He said the TX State Constitution must be amended so that articles of impeachment are not sent to the Senate unless the testimony is made under oath with cross examination with a minimum of two weeks before the trial date.
And the person under impeachment must not be put under unpaid leave during the process.
Also, his office will audit the taxpayer money that was spent on this trial. The ones who brought the articles of impeachment have high priced lawyers whereas the defendants did not use high paid lawyers but staff working overtime without extra pay.
