As any other parents, you growing independent makes us proud. Having friends ... that you're trustworthy, not socially inept. But us out of the picture? That's unlikely. Turned plausible. What with all our complaints to your sometimes rude behavior, to our illness wrought by old age. Our preferred stories we always forget we've told. So sorry they're oft-repeated. Maybe it's the lesson we're after? For you ... to learn from our wrongs in the past, so may you not repeat them. You walk away from us like we're not your first friends. Me and your mom. When you we're little, it's only our shoulders you leaned on. We truly miss that. When will you talk with us again despite your busy schedule? See we've become stoic. Mostly me, as men are. But we eagerly want to be updated with your current problems. Maybe not materially, it's you now who's giving back. We hope ours still your sought-after advices. You know we're just here. We patiently listened to your stories that no one could ever decode or interpret but your mom. Thinking of that again, I think, moms deserve a master's or PhD to that (salute!). Name it and you'd be given. Just don't cry. Just provide us a wide smile and hugs and kisses all year long. Years. Sometimes we even wish you won't grow that quick.
