This document written by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (no joke, this is really the ministry's name) is somehow scary.

It was written in 2017 and shows that the current agenda was planned for a long time. I translated page #43 for you which covers their societal vision.

1. Super resource-efficient society
A society in which no building stands empty, but is used optimally all the time. Also, no cars drive empty anymore. New appliances and machines generate their own energy. For those working on energy harvesting sensors, the discussion of centralized, large power plants seems pointless.

2. Post-choice society
Artificial intelligence replaces choice: We never have to decide to take a particular bus or train, but get the fastest way from A to B. We will never forget our keys, wallets or watches. We will also never forget our keys, wallets or watches.

3. Post-ownership society
Thanks to information about available shared goods and resources, it makes less sense to own something: Perhaps private property will indeed become a luxury. Data could complement or replace money as currency.

4. Post-market society
Basically, markets are information systems that allocate resources. As an information system, however, a market functions very simply. It only transmits that a person bought this or that; but we don't know why. In the future, sensors can provide us with better data than markets.

5. Post-energy society

6. Post-voting society
Knowing exactly what people do and want, there is less need for elections, majority rule or voting. Behavioral data can replace democracy as the as the social feedback system.
