Ford to Become First US Automaker to Impose Vaccine Mandate for Workers
Ford Motor will require its 32,000 US workforce to be vaccinated against Covid-19 by Dec. 8 or face 30-days unpaid leave, according to the company’s spox, Monique Brentley. (CNBC)
Brentley noted that 84% of the staff are already fully jabbed and stressed the firm will consider religious and medical exemptions. However, those who refuse to take the jab and do not obtain an exemption could have their jobs terminated.
The move comes after the WH declared Monday that it would require any company with more than 100 employees to vaccinate their workers, expanding the measure, affecting some 100mn Americans.
