Poles have been preparing this for two months already. When Jaroslaw Kaczynski spoke in mid-March about NATO peacekeeping force in #Ukraine, it was clear #Poland is the most interested party in getting boots on the ground.

Then they started getting the ‘boots’ ready - signs of mobilization followed by massive exercise. Now, it appears that the time has come to the legal framework.

President of Ukraine today spoke about new law proposal, which will provide Polish citizens a special status on the territory of Ukraine. That allegedly will include the right to participate in the governmental and law-enforcement bodies.

Polish President reciprocated, mentioning the need to facilitate the border transparency and speed up Ukraine’s accession to the European Union.

The thing is that it looks like a part of Ukraine will indeed become a part of the EU, but… as a part of Poland.
