Mansplain What does mansplain mean?
To explain something in a condescending manner Mansplain is a term that combines "man" and "explain" and describes a man explaining something in a condescending manner to another person.
Mansplain often occurs when a man is explaining something that may be somewhat confusing to a person who doesn't know as much in that area. But instead of giving a straightforward explanation the man explaining it makes the recipient feel inferior. Mansplain may happen when explaining how a car works or why a penalty was called during a game. Common mansplain perpetrators include mechanics, techies, car salesmen, and politicians.
