What does swatting mean?
Creating a false emergency to get a SWAT team to respond
Swatting is a term that refers to a prank where a person reports a false emergency to get a SWAT team to respond to an innocent person's house. Swatting grew in popularity when numerous celebrities, such as Tom Cruise, Paris Hilton, and Justin Timberlake, were swatted in 2014.
Some gamers have begun to swat other gamers by retrieving their home address and calling in fake emergencies in order to get points. For example, the more police that show up or the more damage is done, the more points.
